About Prydea
Decisions, not discovery.
Buying well for a companion animal has become harder than it should be.
There are more products than ever, but little help choosing between them. Customers face endless catalogues, sponsored placements, reviews of uncertain origin, and advice written to close a sale rather than answer a question.
The result is not useful choice.
It is uncertainty.
Prydea exists to replace that uncertainty with confidence.
A decision platform, not another catalogue
Most retailers are organised around showing customers more products.
Prydea is organised around helping customers make one good decision.
We keep the catalogue deliberately narrow. A product is included only when we can explain who it suits, who should look elsewhere, what it does well, and where it falls short.
We separate supplier information from our own evaluation. When the evidence is limited, our guidance should make that uncertainty clear.
Knowing what we do not know is part of giving an honest answer.
We will tell you when something is not right
Sometimes the honest recommendation is to buy nothing.
If a product does not suit your companion animal, we will say so. If nothing we carry is suitable, we will say that too. Where useful, we may explain what to look for elsewhere.
A recommendation is only worth trusting if it can also be a no.
Ask Prydea puts this approach into practice. It currently helps owners choose dog walking equipment. It uses Prydea’s product evaluations to identify suitable options and explain the reasoning behind the result.
Your needs can affect the recommendation. Which product earns Prydea more never does.
Where we are today
Prydea is starting with a deliberately narrow range of dog walking equipment.
Depth matters more than range. It is better to understand a small number of products properly than to list thousands we could not honestly evaluate.
The catalogue will expand only when Prydea can maintain the same standard of evidence, clarity, and honest guidance.
The short version
Commerce sustains Prydea.
Trust defines Prydea.
Every product must earn its place. Every recommendation exists to improve the customer’s decision, not Prydea’s margin.
When the most honest advice is to buy nothing, that is the advice Prydea should give.
